Rita!!!

I never thought that I would have to worry about hurricanes in Austin, but we've got a nasty one coming our way. Being the perpetual optimist, I don't think that we will be significantly affected. In fact, I expect to be able to go to the ACL festival this weekend. Unfortunately, I fear that many people are in harms' way and I wish them the best. I'm planning to donate to the Red Cross and I've already submitted my volunteer information, so if they need me, I'm willing to help. Posted by Picasa

Mostly depends on where she hits the coast at. keep in mind that lakeland Fl and Orlando Floida are in the dead center between coasts and Charlie came in a hundred miles and tore hell out of both. It is the tropical storm strength winds-fifty to sixty miles per hour for hours on end plus the tornadoes that spin off that do the collateral damage, If you are within a hundred miles of the eye you are going to know about it-take it from someone who went through three last year in Florida! At best you will not lose power for more than a couple of days.
